International Ice Carver - Dennis Taylor

Dennis Taylor is an accomplished New Zealand chef who has extended his creative skills to become a world class ice carver.
His successes with ice resulted in an invitation to attend the world famous ice scupturing championship in Harbin, Northern China, in January 2004. Dennis knew his performance was entirely dependent on being equpped with a wardrobe that would allow him to operate in the minus
30°C temperatures. Earth Sea Sky was able to provide him with a 'layered' wardrobe that allowed him to move easily but keep warm. It proved perfect as Dennis, the only solo competitor, achieved third prize from a field of 30 world competitors with his "Inside a Fish Sculpture." A fantastic achievement.
In December 2005 Dennis was invited to participate in the international ice carving festival in Lubeck Germany. This is a festival attended by 70 artists from 15 nations using a total of 400,000kg of ice. Some of the spectacular carvings can be viewed here.
