- These tops are tougher than they look
- I have a few of these tops and use them for cycling. They're cool to wear (and I wear them baggy for extra ventilation), keep the sun off me and, importantly for cycle touring, they dry real fast. Recently I also discovered the fabric is as tough as old goats' knees. I came off my bike, hard enough to crack my helmet, acquire major bruising, and to remove various bits of skin as I hit the tarmac. The ESS top did not rip or mark, no damage, nothing. Unbelievable. I was so impressed I bought an extra one, just in case ESS ever decide to stop making them.

I had the Zip Polo next to my skin 24/7 for over a week on a long climb: I just put it on and forgot about it. It kept me comfortable, warm and dry and being close-fitting, trapped a layer of warm air. It was also really effective as a sun-block for glacier travel and under hot conditions stayed cool, even with the long sleeves.
